Global: Norway conference success

Information available on 2007 Hong Kong Congress

The World Federation for Mental Health [WFMH] joined with the Clifford Beers Foundation, The Carter Center and a Norwegian NGO, Volksne for Barn [Adults for Children], to organise the Fourth World Conference on the Promotion of Mental Health and the Prevention of Mental and Behavioural Disorders, which took place in Oslo during October last year.

Information released by the WFMH states that 350 participants enrolled from many countries, including some excellent speakers.

The previous conferences in the series were held in the USA, the UK and New Zealand. The fourth continued their focus on life span mental health issues in promotion and prevention, covering early childhood, school–age children, people in the workplace and older adults.

The next conference will be the WFMH biennial World Mental Health Congress in Hong Kong on 19–23 August 2007.
