Fiji: Government’s strategy to maximise resources
Integrated care systems aim to meet health demands
In a move to make the best possible use of strictly limited health resources, the Ministry of Health has announced the implementation of the Health Management Reform Project which is funded by the Australian Government.
The aim of the corporate plan is to guide manager in the central office in Suva and in the three divisional headquarters by outlining geographical divisions and priorities in terms of resources, the attainment of specified goals and by defining the officers responsible for specific strategies.
The conflict between community and acute care has to date limited the advancement of public and health provisions strategies, says the Health Department and further details of the proposals, including the chain of responsibility for implementation of policy, can be found by visiting their website at: www.health.gov.fi.
