West Africa: September meeting of economic community
Sierra Leone chosen to host Eleventh Nutrition Forum
Sierra Leone has been chosen to hold the Eleventh Nutrition Forum of the Economic Community of West African States from September 2008, the West African Health Organisation has announced.
Over 100 participants from West African states are expected to focus on the need for countries in the region to intensify their advocacy role to harness resources for diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, yellow fever, meningitis and polio, which are still endemic in some parts of the sub region including Nigeria and Niger.
The procurement and management of drugs will also be on the agenda.
