Health Minister's Conference to be held 9–13 April
The theme of the forthcoming health ministerial conference in Johannesburg is ‘Strengthening Health Systems for Equity and Development’. This follows on from the AU Summit in Khartoum in
January 2006.
The conference lasts from 9–13 April inclusive and will be divided into two phases, the first being a convention of officials from member states and lasting one day. The remainder of the period will be devoted to what are described as ‘major reports’ covering such items as developing human resources on the continent, pharmaceutical manufacturing in Africa and an African Health Strategy.
The participants will include health ministers, experts and officials, agencies and special guests.
