Workshop for mother and child care safety in Chicago
Healthcare and patient advocates from North and South America attended a gathering near Chicago recently for an intensive three–day workshop focused on efforts to improve patient safety in mother and child care.
Part of the World Health Organization World Alliance for Patient Safety – Patients for Patient Safety initiative, the aim of the workshop was to create a network of patient advocacy leaders who can help expand opportunities for patient involvement in efforts to improve care.
The conference welcomed healthcare professionals and representatives from patient safety groups from across the Americas who were offered training in the design, implementation and evaluations of patient safety solutions that can be used to influence health policies and programs in their own countries and regions.
