England: Moving People campaign to change attitudes

Consortium set to tackle mental health discrimination


The Moving People campaign, headed–up by the consortium of Mind, Mental Health Media, Rethink and the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London, has been awarded £18 million to combat stigma and discrimination in relation to mental health.


Moving People aims to change attitudes towards mental health and, should reach 30 million people in England in its four–year programme.

The latest social marketing techniques will be used to ensure that everyone is aware of the issues. It will also put people with direct experience of mental health needs at the centre of events to help bring about lasting change.

The cash is the largest–ever amount to be given to a voluntary sector–led initiative by The Big Lottery Fund and Comic Relief.
