Scotland: Sign pledge and support Choose Life

Talk and listen for good mental health, says charity

Choose Life, a nationwide anti–suicide organisation, is calling for Scots to lift–the–lid on their emotions and sign a pledge to be more open about their feelings in a bid to improve the nation’s health and help prevent suicide.

The organisation says that many Scots find it difficult to talk about the problems and challenges they face in their lives, and that this can make problems worse; with a deterioration in people’s overall health and mental health in particular.

On average two people each day die from suicide in Scotland. To reflect this, Choose Life is calling for as many people as possible to support the pledges, as suicide can affect all ages, genders and cultures.

Infolink: Suicide Prevention Week 10–17 September 2007.
